Our goal is to ensure that we are focused on evidence based practices. It is our job, as doulas, to ensure our clients know all their options for their pregnancy and birth experience. We need to make sure they are able to make informed and empowered decisions based on up to date data, statistics, and evidence. It is vital that doulas are trained on these up to date practices in order to communicate and educate their clients.

Alongside empowering our families with evidence and education. We need to learn to carry empathy and compassion. We are here to walk this journey with them. Whether they follow the evidence or not, our job is to provide non-biased, non-judgemental support. We must learn how to carry empathy and compassion while our families make decisions.

Practical Skills Development

It would be a disservice to you and to the clients if you walk in the room without confidence in how to practically provide support for all types of birth scenarios. Whether it is an unmedicated physiological birth, VBAC, induction, epidural birth or other scenario, it is imperative that you know ways to provide quality and optimal skills to minimize birth trauma and maximize an empowering experience.

Certification Requirements

Attend Birth Doula Training

This 2-day training is designed to help you a gain a comprehensive understanding of your role as a birth doula and how to provide evidence-based support to families.

Birth Doula Certification Packet

This application will help you acknowledge your purpose and passion behind becoming a doula. There will be some essay questions and doula questionnaire to help ensure you are ready to take the journey as a doula.

Completion of 1 Birth with Documentation

You will be expected to attend one birth before being officially certified as a birth doula. The documentation will be required to ensure the skills associated with being a doula are being utilized and you have a solid understanding of your role.
